David Holt Shares Insights on Law School Admissions, Career Path, and AI's Impact In Interview With Juris Education
David Holt recently shared his experience of becoming a Trial Attorney at Smith Law Center. He also mentioned important details that the next generation of law students should consider, including work experiences, AI implications, and deciding on the right school.
Holt explained that his career path toward law began with his interest in federal law enforcement, stating, "I was a police officer before I went to law school and was interested in federal law enforcement. A law degree seemed logical for my career aspirations at the time.”
As Holt recalled his journey as a law student, he mentioned that he, "worked as a management trainee for Enterprise Rent-A-Car for a few years, then I was a police officer for almost 4 years before law school." Students looking for suitable work experience for law school should take note of this.
Since AI is making splashes in many industries, Holt also talked about AI’s role in law. He thinks that “AI is an emerging area where there are lots of unknowns on how to use it in the legal industry and how to apply it to our work.”
Juris Education launched this series of interviews with noted lawyers to help aspiring and current law students learn from the best. Holt’s candid account of the sacrifices he’s made to become a successful lawyer helps aspiring and current law students understand the dedication required.
